Problem removing apps with Titanium Backup Pro
« on: February 01, 2012, 05:09:46 AM »
Regardless of which app I select, or weather I choose to freeze or uninstall, it always hangs on the Uninstalling "xxx" or Freezing "xxx" window.  I know most of you have Titanium working properly, and I'm not particularly knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff. What are some basic settings or troubleshooting things I can do to figure out why it's not working? I have USB debugging mode enabled. But when I force close the app and reboot the TPT (I can't just re-open the app or it goes straight back to being stuck on the message window) I notice USB debugging is disabled. Since rooting I haven't done much to it. I've installed Quill, Root Check Basic, and that's it.  It does seem to uninstall the apps, because when I force close and reboot and try to find the app in my apps or in TB it doesn't show up.

I'm stuck at this step of tweaking my TPT so I can't go any further. I wanted to strip it down as much as I could before I started customizing and downloading the apps I wanted.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

try to uninstall and reinstall it.

ps: no need to reboot the TPT, go to the properties -> manage applications and stop Titanium

Thanks for the help. I ended up re-installing superuser and going to the titanium preferences and selecting auto, indirect, instead of auto, direct, and it works fine now. I dunno why mine has to be different than everyone else's but as long as it works I'm happy. I've been punching bloatware in the face left and right now it's awesome! Notes Mobile is by far the worst offender.. After I've killed all the apps I know are safe to remove I'll do a backup with cwm and start killing off the apps I'm not sure about.

The problem of USB debugging un-checking itself upon reboot persists though, and I don't think I did that before.
