Hi,

I found this adb command
adb shell reboot recovery <== ENTER

J:\Source\lenovo\yareftpt2\yareftpt>adb shell
$ su
su
# reboot recovery
reboot recovery
reboot returned
#
J:\Source\lenovo\yareftpt2\yareftpt>

but it still cannot get in to recovery mode.

Yup, that's the command I was looking for. However, apparently none of the reboot recovery commands work on the Thinkpad. (Multiple reasons why - could be a kernel thing, could be a recovery thing..) None of them work on mine either - and I CAN get into recovery. So don't take that as a sign that you don't have CWM in, just that yours is acting like mine (and probably everyone else's) at the moment. :)

So what should I do now?

I can not root because Mobility Manager is poped during the process (ThinkPadTablet_A310_02_0037_0074_ROW firmware).
Is there any method how to root tablet (factory reset and reflashing of firmware does not help)?
Same issue here any ideas?

OTA 2.5, SuperUser and CWR ... SOLVED
« Reply #185 on: April 06, 2012, 10:52:24 PM »
If, like me you forgot to use Root Keeper, and updated to OTA 2.5 (e.g., 0089_ROW) then here is the solution to gaining**root**, installing CWR, and generally staying happy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1471106&page=2
Google Nexus S GT-i9023,  [CNA (Mod) 2.0.0-RC2 Android 4.0.4 IMM76D/Matr1x-CFS-V22.0, SmartassV2~SIO 200-1200Mhz/XXKL1], unlocked, rooted.
Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet, 18392QM 0121_ROW, [Android 4.0.3, OTA3], unlocked, rooted.

Thank you, but you don't have to post the same link for the same issue, in multiple places, please.

@coyttl.... if you are still having trouble getting back to the original recovery, I simply renamed /etc/install-recovery.sh and then renamed install-recovery.sh.forrecovery which I had saved for this purpose. You can also extract it if lost, from the zip file downloadable from Lenovo. That will then allow you to get any OTAs, including the promised ICS in May-June.
Cheers.

@ DrGadget

I interpret your “May-Jun” comment to note skepticism for Lenovo fulfilling the promise of ICS for our TPT in May and I agree that it will be interesting to see if ICS reaches our devices in May. Personally I will be pleasantly surprised if we see it in May.

@S.Prime: Sadly, I am a 'glass half empty' person when it comes to such promises.  I do like the device though, and am glad it is not a M$Windows device or I would not have the pleasure of owning it.

Oh yes, as my wife just found out when she downloaded a so-called free game for her iPad and I got the bill via Gmail. The only saving grace is that the games from Apple $tore don't allow wagering. Well, at least I hope they don't as that is one of the worst addictions there is.

I'm not sure I may take the OTA ICS upgrade.. I'm still up in the air about it. I'm too used to custom ROMs.. I may hold off for a few months, seeing if any customs come out, first. :)

0089_WE, had to use my seven laptop in order to run the batch ( MTP drivers messing up with XP .. )
I got this far using yareftp .. It takes around 5 min to reboot the TPT ( stuck on lenovo animation ) then it still fails updating the Rom ..
