Our forum today surpassed 800 members and continues to maintain a considerable amount of discussion on rooting. I have seen much written on the percentage of Android devices that are rooted, with estimates starting as low as 1% and extending to 15%. I have attempted to track the reports of rooting success and failure in the forum and 45 members out of 802 or .056% have reported that they have attempted root, as best as I can determine. Our previous poll on rooting, only received 26 votes, mainly because there have been few comments posted so the poll virtually died. Therefore, I am asking that if you vote, please post a comment stating at the least that you have voted to help keep the interest up for the poll. We do not track user votes and so you remain anonymous, even if you state simply that you have voted. Comments will attract members and guests and give us a better idea of the depth rooting has reached for the ThinkPad Tablet. My personal guess is that we will see that rooting has achieved at least 10% for the TPT at this point and will continue to grow. I welcome your comments and ask for your participation.

* No CWM. I have lenovo modified recovery, so i can sign the updates my self.

Rooted w/ Drjbliss, 075_US version (I think.. it's 7x), CWR installed.

Really, really, really looking forward to some useable ROMs!

Rooted with opdecirkel method, 0089_SC. Thanks man!

How did you modify Lenovo recovery? I would like to be able to install any ROM, especially US or ROW variants, even play with CM9.

Does the stock firmware allow only the same variant to be installed e.g. SC variants can install SC ROMs only?

It is interesting that the djrbliss exploit and the opdecikel exploit have very close results in our poll, at this point. So with the djrbliss exploit blocked by OTA 2.0, will we see a surge in rooting with the opdecikel exploit?

Please note that this does not reflect competition between the two exploits, it simply means that the TPT rooting is evolving and that the 2nd exploit was built on the first and the rooting evolution continues. Remember that your input is the only way to achieve an accurate gauge of the forum.

I have rooted my tablet using djrbliss's exploit within a few days it came out. I also have CWR installed. I rooted when i had 0075_US and now I've updated to my current 0089_US thanks to GodfatherIP with my root intact.

I am using 0089_ROW and have SuperUser access via yareftpt method (TPTForums), and have CWR using realyst2k's method (XDA-Developers). The TPT users seem very indifferent to having better control of their tablets. I may be wrong, but put this down to few of us being Linux aficionados.

I am also using NSTools and CPU Spy to use the OnDemand governor and Noop scheduler to balance performance and battery usage.

Hi guys,

Just for feedback that I finally get's rooted.
My Vote was added!

TPT 32GB, 0089_US version (but I hope be able to change one day to ROW version, for a Keyboard LatinAmerica layout required).

For me Root takes time, at the end was a Layer 8 failure ( :'(user interface problem)

, I mean:
1.- I don't be be so carfully

, paying attention on some specific process like the unlocked screen.
2.- Or also e.g. some keys no pressed correctly according to the BATch file indications, whan I'm on the restart recovery process (power, button, etc), on the process related to the Battery line (when running RUN.BAT)....... in that stage, some error or anticipated restart by my fault...

I don't remember the exact mistaken errors, specially based on some many wrong combinations.. but finally works... thank you so much for all the info on this site.

currently at 0089_ROW, root kept by using rooot keeper
