Would You Buy A 7 Inch Thinkpad Tablet?

Yes, I like the portability of the smaller 7 inch form factor and would use this as my main tablet.

Maybe, but probably as a secondary tablet.  A 10 inch is more practical for most uses.

No, 7 inches is too small to be productive on.

Would You Buy A 7 Inch Thinkpad Tablet?
« on: December 19, 2011, 09:17:42 PM »
Would You Buy A 7 Inch Thinkpad Tablet if Lenovo made one? Would 7 inches be a positive or negative as compared to the 10.1 inch ThinkPad Tablet?  Could you use a 7 inch tablet as your primary device or would it become more a secondary tablet you could easily throw in a jacket pocket. Watching the success of the Kindle Fire which apparently is seeing millions of units in sales, I consider a Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 7 as a viable possibility in the future.  Would you buy one?

No, I just ordered the 10.1"  Thinkpad Tablet.  My primary desire for a tablet is note taking with a stylus.  Anything less then 10" is too small.  If I want small, I have a RAZR.  If I wanted a compact e-reader, I'd get a Fire.  I don't really see that happening though.  If I was going to spend money on a device just to read books, I would have already.  Anything else I want to do with a device will be served by the 10.1" tablet or the phone.   The main subscription I want to get is eIBD, which is basically a PDF of the full IBD paper.  It's cheaper, and I can ditch the paper subscription. The Kindle version does not have charts and is useless.  I'm sure some see a need for 7" but I don't.

I didn't know IBD made a electronic version.  I'm gonna look into that.  I used to read it religiously.

Yes, eIBD is basically just an exact PDF copy of the paper.  It is usually available several hours after market close too.  You just log in to investors.com and download it.  As I said, there is a Kindle version of IBD, but it is has no charts, which I use.  If don't care about the charts and just want the articles, it is a great way to save on the subscription.

No I wouldn't. I had a EVO 4G phone which at the time had the biggest screen for a phone compared to my previous HTC Hero. I liked the bigger screen area. I eventually got a Galaxy Tab 7 inch and liked that for the screen space. But it left me wanting more.
I recently got the Thinkpad to replace my NI Adam and I love the size. Plus with the accessories such as the Keyboard Folio, it is a really nice device. Almost replaces my tablet laptop.

If Lenovo or any manufacturer makes a 7 inch tablet but with the accessories such as a Keyboard folio, then maybe i would consider it as a secondary device, but overall I like the bigger screen of a 10 inch tablet.
