Downloaded the update to ICS a few hours ago and have been playing with it since. First thing I noticed immediately is that now when I press the power button to wake it up it takes up to three seconds before the screen comes on and I can use it. I admit that I cannot at the moment envision any reason that would require me to access it quicker...but then neither can I see any reason for it to be so slow to respond.

Also the display time-out feature does not seem to be working either...I have set it from 2 min all the way down to 15 seconds delay before the display should turn off...all to no result. Each time I waited well past the selected time and the display was still on....at this moment I am not sure the display will ever turn off on its own.

Good to know that Beta test 2 is well on it's way.

For some reason the forums lost my update to my previous post...so I will just make it a new post:

I discovered that after installing the Chrome Browser somehow my display time-out function was restored to operational status....I am not sure why this would fix anything but it does seem to have done so. Now if only I could find another app to install that will fix the delay in waking up the tablet.

FYI: I have shut down and re-started several times now...with no effect. I was even contemplating a complete device reset back to factory defaults.

I know I can maintain root, it's giving up CWM that has me waiting. I want it all. ;)

I downloaded and installed the update yesterday and now I am finding that something is killing my battery life.  I haven't changed the frequency of syncing for email etc and I have notifications turned off.  Anyone else having trouble?

Unrelated, does anyone know whether it is possible to do screenshots now that it is ICS?  I am not confident enough to root my tablet.

Thanks.

The screenshot is achieved in ICS by pressing volume down and power at the same time, is really a timing thing. You will know when you are successful when the screenshot shows. But we risk our flimsy buttons.

See the guide for installing OTA3 (ICS) Here. It has links to downloading the update files manually, then you can install through recovery.

Many posts about the battery issue on the Lenovo forum.

Thanks for the help.  I see many, many posts about battery draining 30% faster with ICS but no solutions.  Battery usage showed 'gallery' was eating it, so I stopped that app, but no significant improvement.  Any ideas?

New issue is that wifi doesn't reconnect after waking.  I am reluctant to do a factory reset, but maybe that is the solution.

ker2 reported a significant performance improvement after a factory reset, but did not mention anything about battery improvement. I am showing excessive battery drain as well and have taken a performance hit, so I am planning a factory reset, when I have time today or tomorrow.
