ThinkPad Tablet Apps / Quill update issue.

Just got an update to quill.  Now it is putting dots on the page before the stylus makes contact.  Looks like there is pepper on the page.  I hope the fix this soon.  I don't suppose there are any settings that could correct this, are there?  It would be nice to have the option of rolling back an update.  I had no issues with the previous version.

ThinkPad Tablet General Discussion / Newspaper experience (eIBD)

Well I just fulfilled another of my reasons for wanting this tablet.  I really wanted to convert from the paper IBD (Investor's Business Daily) to eIBD on the tablet.  I wanted the ability to annotate right on the page in addition to the portability factor.  Using ezPDF Reader I can write on the page with the stylus which was something I couldn't do on my tablet PC, at least not with the software I had.  I started a 4 week free trial of eIBD, and the first day has sold me.  I'll be converting the rest of my paper subscription to eIBD after the trial.

I will miss the large size of the paper, but it was also bulky to open and read.  I didn't like reading it at work.  I will like reading the tablet at work.  eIBD has a web reader, but it does not work that well on a tablet.  The ads they insert in the web reader get in the way. The PDF is much better.  Also, multiple PDFs can be stored and retrieved even away from a network.  I don't have to deal with late or missing papers anymore either.  I used to get so mad when I was anticipating the Monday edition (IBD's version of a Sunday paper), and it never showed up.

I will also read more of the paper now.  Sometimes I would glance at the paper once and never pick it back up.  Since the tablet is always with me, I will be able to read it more thoroughly.

OMG!  This tablet is AWESOME!  I know in some of my other posts I said I was wishing for a Wacom penabled tablet.  My only experience with N-Trig was the demo models at Best Buy and the AT&T store.  Maybe it was the software on the HTCs, maybe it was the fact that they were demo models, but the responsiveness and accuracy of the handwritting on the TPT is OUTSTANDING!  The ink lines also look much better.  I was expecting an acceptable experience, and was pleasantly surprised at how well this device works.

The inking is nice and thin.  The accuracy is very good.  Even the handwritting recognition was impressive.  I prefer freehand note taking, but may try out the recognition at a few meetings where I don't need to draw diagrams.

The only complaint I have so far is the pen tip is noisy.  That makes me totally happy to have a device that works so well, I'm complaining about a little clicking from the pen.  I can't believe I got this for less than $500.
