Congrats, wish i could say the same thing for myself lol damn power button failed so i can't play with it to try to get stock back.

Well when it rains it pours. Seems like my power button has decided to fail at the last minute. So I may have to do that fix over at xda to resolder it before I can proceed to attempt to place the tablet back to stock recovery. I opened it up and repositioned the switch but i do not know how long it may last without actually resoldering it.

anyway, I did the steps provided by Godfather in this post

The steps from that post are as follows...
The file --->ThinkPadTablet_A310_02_0039_0089_US_Recovery_CWR.zip

this update should reinstall the stock recovery.

Flash that in ClockworkMod recovery,
reboot,
protect root and temp unroot with Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper,
then shut down and
enter recovery by pressing volume up after turning on
(DO NOT use reboot recovery command in adb as this could brick your tablet if the recovery installation was unsuccessful), and finally
flash the update from sdcard using stock recovery.
You can simply put both updates on your sdcard and flash one after the other
(the first one is actually ICS, the 2nd is just a small patch), then
boot up and enjoy ICS.

Now I rebooted, twice and now after each vibration I press the volume up button and nothing happens, it goes straight to the main screen.

Its getting to the point that I'm willing to send it to anyone that can get this working. lol

Speaking of sending, would Lenovo accept a broken power button tablet that is rooted and has CWM? I doubt it, but I figure I'll ask.

I'm going to have to use that guide to reinforce the power button otherwise I won't be able to use it for recovery.

might as well cc me on that pm too  ;D

I tried removing CWM and go back to stock recovery, and I followed the thead showing how but it didn't work.

If you figure it out, let me know.

I'm somewhat in the same boat. I wanted to sell my Thinkpad but want to place it in a stock state for any new owner, in doing so I then noticed that the power button is getting harder to use, so i might have to send it back also like you to get it fixed. So either way i need to put it in stock mode anyway.

I'm having the same issue but i'm at A310_03_0039_0086 on my thinkpad. I did the update provided by Godfather and it seems to have installed but I am still getting clockworkmod recovery, either way none of the following updates 0089, 0130 and beyond I was able to install since I'm getting that Indigo error also.

TPT with Root

1) Install RootKeeper from Play Google availible here and run it to preserve Root.

2) Temporarily remove root with RootKeeper just before running the ICS upgrade

3) Go to Settings/About/Check for Update and download the update

4) Install the update per the instructions or see the instructions for CWM installation below

5) Open RootKeeper and restore root

Note:     If you have CWM you can install ICS from CWM's recovery console. If you downloaded the Update.zip and update.xml file when the tablet showed update available and selected install later, copy the files to your SDCard, temporarily uninstalled root with Rootkeeper, them boot into CWM recovery and selected install update from SDCard, select Update.zip and your TPT updates to ICS with the new Android Recovery. Hopefully some of the Dev's will port CWM to our TPT once again. You can also download the update files from Here, where you will find 2 update files and 1 XML file (run the large update first)

Hi S.Prime,

In reference to the files that one downloads from the Lenovo link above, I have two questions before I even attempt to upgrade my Thinkpad.
my current Thinkpad setup is the following...
Android Version: 3.1
Kernal: 2.6.36.3 build@build-desktop #1
Build #: A310_02_0039_0086_US
Model: 183825U 32bit

also have installed the following...
CWM version
ROM manager version 5.0.1.5
RootKeeper v2.0.3
Busybox v1.20.2

Questions are...
1-Considering that I have build # A310_02_0039_0086_US, do I need to update the files with the next series of updates such as A310_02_0039_0089 then A310_03_0069_0130 before A400_03_0069_0130 or can I just go from the current one directly to the last one.

2-I attempted to start the update by temporarily unrooting via Rootkeeper. Then went to try to update via Settings, About Tablet, System Updates (although it does not tell me which version is being downloaded for install) and it rebooted into Booting recovery kernal image, looks like its about to install and then Andy the mascot falls on its back with the dreaded red triangle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Trying via CWM renamed the files from Lenovo site to update.zip (as well as the xml file) and I get the follow error message..

--Installing: /sdcard/UpdateZips/update.zip
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E:failed to open last_install: Invalid argument

assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "Indigo" ||     getprop("ro.build.product") == "Indigo"

That's a shame, cause it really works well on the thinkpad.

Still can't believe that the US version still hasn't gotten ICS.

Yeah it stopped rebooting, and to be honest i do not remember what i did to stop it.
btw, I haven't touched the Thinkpad in over a month. I've been waiting for all the parts i ordered overseas to see if i can modify the Folio to accept an additional USB port while the Thinkpad is docked in the folio. Plus the fact that my mom in law is seriously sick and in the hospital I really haven't had the time to mess with the Thinkpad.

I really can't see that image well. Is it a grill on it?

Ok, I'm curious, who else is from NYC. And by NYC I also mean the 5 boros of NYC and borderline New Jersey (Hooboken, West NY, etc)
