Hello All.

So I'm trying to design a portable charger for the tablet that can be used on the car/jet/bus, while traveling or anywhere that power isn't readily available. Basically, it's going to be a high mAh lipo battery that can be charged either thru USB, a DC wall wart or the attached solar panel, mounted in a convenient small case. When your battery in the TPT starts getting low, simply plug the TPT into the little battery pack and you're good to go.

While cruising the Lenovo site I came across the following specs for how long it takes to charge the TPT battery based on the charger used. I'm thinking if I up the charger output voltage and amperage to be closer to the 65W AC Adapter, it could dramatically lessen the charge time. Now obviously I won't be able to up the voltage coming from the battery or the solar panel, but plugged in with a wall wart shouldn't be a problem. Does that line of thought make sense or am I way off the mark and heading towards a fried TPT?

I too am running Windows 7 x64...did you install the x64 version of the JDK or the x86? I know that I installed both the x86 and x64 versions of the JRE, just in case I have any x64 apps that require it.

Also, a cool quick way to a command prompt in Windows 7 (maybe Vista too, but I don't have it to test it)...

• Navigate, in Windows Explorer or My Computer, to the folder the app you want to run is in.
• Hold down the "Shift" key and right click.
• In the context menu that pops up, select "Open command window here".

Well, my first post where I'm providing the help...and I've only had my TPT for one day 

I live in Orlando, FL. Tourism capital of the USA, possibly the world. When you live here though, that translates into something else...F%!cking Tourists That Once They Leave Their Home State Forget How To Drive Capital! I mean doesn't a stop sign mean stop in Wisconsin too?! But I digress.

On my way into work this AM, a tourist ignores a stop sign, forcing me to slam on my brakes and everything that was on my seat ended up on the floor. On the seat was my barely one day old TPT and a 17" laptop in a pelican case. As luck would have it, the TPT hits the deck first and the Pelican case slams corner first right into the corner of the screen where that the pen sits behind. The screen got scraped up and the case of the TPT separated maybe a millimeter. The screen cleaned up fine, the case snapped back together fine, but the pen wouldn't stay in the holder anymore (I knew this was going to happen as that securing mechanism was shoddy at best). After looking at it closely, I realized that one of the plastic clips inside where the pen sits broke or I'm just afraid to press on the screen hard enough to get it to latch again. After some quick MacGyvering, I came up with a solution...



That is a small piece of sticky back female velcro. After trial and error in it's placement, that is the best spot to put it. If you put it on the inside of the face or the inside of the back, it exerts too much pressure on the case and it starts to separate it. You don't need that large of a piece either as the slot isn't all that loose. Sorry the pic is so blurry. I can try later to get a better pic of it. If anyone needs any clarification, just post here or PM me.

If anyone comes up with a more elegant solution, I'm all ears. Good luck!
